MagicTech

This section only explains the meta use of Magic-tech, focused on explaining how spell casting works in your character sheet. For lore related explanation either check the Magic page or just ask the other players and the dm.

I will not add a full list of spells and here, it would take too much space, (maybe in the future lol) but there's plenty of links for full catalouges of spells and cantrips on the side bar under the "other tools" tag.

Magic in our universe is a tad complicated, Magic was suposed to be something inrerant, something most people are born withone way or another, but because of harsh regulations most people never excercise their magic and so become reliant on MagiTech to be able to perform spellcasting.

MagiTech can come in many forms, but for the sake of simplicity MagiTech will simply refer to anything that allows someone to perform any form of spell or cantrip.

"Since spells have become more like objects, do they occupy inventory space?"

No, carrying MagiTech will not affect your inventory, think of it as having a bag of holding but SOLELY for your spells.

Cantrips

Being some of the most simple magic tricks, most cantrip's MagiTechs can be found in convinience stores, being sold next to food and charging cables, a mix of 7eleven, CU korean stores and classic apotecaries.

Most cantrips are quite cheap but single use only.

There is no school, class or preparation needed to cast store bought cantrips and most do contain use instructions somewhere in the packged*

💡 the instructions for cantrips are mostly for roleplay purposes, they will not afect if you are able to use the cantrip. example; A bottle of Gust might instruct you to shake the bottle before opening, but if you do or not follow the isntructions, it will not affect the spell itself.

Higher Spells

Higher spells refer to any spells above lvl 1.

MagiTech also applies here, most spells can be found in stores, however, higher spells are sold in specific stores. Think of it as having one store for each school of magic. So to buy aberations spells you'd have to go to an Aberation store, to buy necromancy spells you'd have to go to a Necromancy store and so on.

this is mostly for roleplay purposes, you can always just visit the nearest 'shop distric' and buy the spells you want/can.

Most Higher Spells are not single use but do need to be recharged, same as usual dnd spell slots rules.

Casting without MagiTech

Everyone is capable of casting spells without magitech, however it tends to be more dificult and far more dangerous for begginers.

For casting without magiTech one must go through a period of study and practice, often being done in college, but easily done by religious practices or

To make Spellcasting easier one can obtain a a quasi-sentient magical instrument through which they can channel their magical powers to centralise the effects for more complex and controled results. This can be almost any imbued object, most commum are wands and staffs, a simple wooden stick, but it can truly be anything. These objects are called "Chanel"

To create one of these channels, an object must be chosen and cleansed, then it must be layed out in a ritual circle along with at least one other experienced spellcaster or power source (like a diety or demon). Once the object is properly imbued with the user's specif esence it will bind itself to the user and only that person will be able to use the chanel for spell casting.

Channels are also sold in stores, but they are often limited and very weakly binded. Can work for lower level spell or cantrips.

Spellcasting license

It is important to remenber, a lot of spells are heavily controled and restricted, most requiring a license or a degree to be used legaly.

People who work in certain areas will have access to certain spells, like hospitals having high level healers or construction workers having acess to strengh spells.

Another example of legal spellcasting is found in religious study, many temples, churches, and anythign related to worshing and comuning with deities. People in close contact with the deities have an easier time studying and exercing magic.
